Catherine Destivelle, icône de l’alpinisme au féminin

Catherine Destivelle, an icon of women's mountaineering

By Paul-Arthur Raynaud

Catherine Destivelle is a pioneer.

The first climbing star. The first woman to receive a Piolet d'Or for her entire career. Also the first to solo a route on the Drus. Through her solos, her competitions, her new routes, she redefined what it meant to be a female alpinist.

In this new episode of Pavenstory, we trace the journey of this icon of female mountaineering. From Fontainebleau to the Himalayas, from the Eiger to Antarctica, her story is that of a free, determined, visionary woman. It is also a story of transmission - as Catherine now dedicates her life to publishing mountain narratives.
